“Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.” Ansel Adams

Explore both in-camera and post-production techniques to expand your creative and artistic vision. We start by looking at what inspires you as a photographer and how this inspiration acts as a catalyst for developing new ideas and expanding your creative vision. You will work through your ideas, problem solve and put those ideas into practice. There will be plenty of tips and tricks along the way, to help you achieve your ideas and vision. Bring cameras and whatever lenses you have.

Time will be spent on location photographing, as well as working inside on your images, so bring your laptop (or computer) and Kaye will demonstrate and work with each student to bring their artistic vision to life. We will be delving into Photoshop techniques (including compositing) to either create or fine-tune your images, all aimed towards producing a fine art print by the end of the workshop.

Throughout the process, there will be plenty of discussions as well as the opportunity for individual and group critique, all aimed at pushing and developing your enables and capabilities.

Kaye’s work includes portraiture, illustrative and landscape photography, using the camera and “digital darkroom” as her artist’s canvas and choice of medium. She is an NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographer, NZIPP Grand Master of Photography, and Master of Photography II with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. She was the 2013 NZ Professional Photographer of the Year and has been awarded the title of NZ Creative Photographer of the Year four times.
