Workshop Summary:
During this mark making and printmaking workshop, Michel will guide you through the processes and techniques of traditional woodblock printmaking. Designed for participants to develop confidence and experiment with their own mark making. Students are encouraged to bring along any drawings and images concepts and with his tutorship he’ll take you through generating some new ideas.
Processes covered will include drawing and composition, chisel relief printing techniques, ink application, press, registration with primary outcomes focussed on creating a finished range of A3 finished print works on paper in full colour.
Michel Tuffery is an award winning printmaker. In February 2022 Michel was invited to become a member of the prestigious PRISM group of International printmakers. His art practice exceeds the boundaries of contemporary media, collaborating on installation and performance artworks that traverse cultural boundaries and defy concrete categorisation. His iconic woodcuts, lithographs, drawings, paintings on tapa cloth and canvas, sculpture, performances and emblematic carvings are the artistic offerings of a keen historian and active participator on cultural frames and the environment.
