The course will explore creative bookbinding. it is an unconventional binding in terms of both cover and sewing structure.

I will also be teaching people a variety of ways of adding different elements to the book.

You could almost nickname it a Swiss army knife (book), as it doesn’t have an official name. Exploring folded and sewn paper additions in a wraparound  hardcover with a modern exposed sewing.

There has also been some discussion with some regular students who also wanted the opportunity to provide their own content for the book (i.e. writing/drawing/stories poems etc etc) to replace or supplement the blank pages we normally do. There will be a chance to make an A5 book with student initiated content.
