Fly Fishing
Mike has been fly fishing for 63 years and teaching it for over 50 years. He has experience of fishing most types of trout waters both rivers and stillwaters. Having fished in New Zealand for 45 years mainly in Otago, Southland and Canterbury.
Mike has written several books on fly fishing and fly casting as well as being the angling correspondent for the Otago Daily Times for 45 years.
He was all round British casting champion 5 times also winning a world professional championship.
Course Description
Monday to Wednesday
The three day course covers tackle, casting, trout behaviour, what trout feed on, what flies to use and how to fish them, and how to cope with seasonal variations. It also covers reading the water to enable the water to be covered effectively in rivers and stillwaters.
Most importantly how to adopt the right mindset to be a successful fly fisher.
