Travel Photography - And Much More
With advancing technology and the increasing number of people travelling, recording our travels has changed considerably. This course covers a wide range of subjects from simple, effective documentation of a trip to shooting for specific outcomes. It may be a once in a lifetime trip or a relaxed weekend away. Equipment can range from a smart phone to shoot photos and video to traveling with a kit of camera gear.
The course will cover:
Can I ditch my camera and just use a smart phone?
Need-to-know settings for cameras and smart phones
composition techniques to turn the mundane into a stunner
Shooting a range of photos
Making the most of opportunities
What equipment to take - what not to take
Flexible backup options
Editing on the move
Social media & sharing images and video
Managing data capacity
While this course is centred around photography we will cover associated areas including:
Planning - research tips and tricks
Options for mobile communications overseas
Money smarts - best options for travel
Safety and avoiding being a target
Places to avoid - finding the must visit places
Using apps to significantly aid travelling
I was the guinea pig for this course - travelling through Europe for six weeks last year with no camera, just using a smart phone. For more than four decades in professional photography I’d always travelled with a decent kit of camera equipment. There were a lot of surprises - pros and cons, so what will I do next time?
