Jacky is an international tutor, teaching watercolours around the world.  Jacky also teaches on a regular basis on Zoom and in person.

She has won numerous national and international awards.  Jacky has represented NZ in international competitions and represents NZ including the International Watercolour Museum of Mexico City. Jacky has a watercolour techniques book being published, available worldwide, July 2026.

Course Outline:

Watercolour Portraits and figures.

Spend 5 days brushing up watercolour portrait and figure skills.

Learn how to get a quick and easy likeness.  Discover an easy way of positioning correctly  features, hair and background.  Learn colour mixing, washes and glazes.  We will also include a day of painting figures to populate your paintings, proportions and watercolour techniques.

This course will suit beginners and experienced - easy to follow instructions, fun and friendly environment, lots of individual help.  A live model will sit for us for a couple of hours and lots of handouts and reference photos provided.  If you are working on a portrait idea you are most welcome to bring your ideas for advice.
